Viñas de Umbra’s identity is defined by each of its vineyards, every one bringing a distinctive nuance from across the Soria and Burgos stretches of the Ribera. The vineyard selection spans a mosaic of soils, altitudes and sites that reflects the authenticity and diversity of Ribera del Duero’s terroir. From the sandy limestone soils of the Roa district to the sandy clay soils of Soria, the Tinto del País variety gives characterful expression to the full richness of its origin.

Independent winegrowers such as Daniel Maestre, Miguel Ronal and Rafael García are the true custodians of this heritage: people who know every vine, every soil and every moment in the life of the vineyard. Their work and sensitivity mean that what we do in the winery is simply the final step in a journey that begins long before, out in the vineyard. Our commitment is to preserve and give voice to that genuine expression of Ribera del Duero, respecting the character that the land imprints on each vintage.
